Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) has ended formal, scheduled B737 operations as of Saturday, October 29. ch-aviation research indicates that of the German carrier's fleet of five remaining B737-300s, D-ABEF (msn 25217) was the last arrive back at Frankfurt Int'l following a flight from Nuremberg.
Lufthansa has operated all variants of the B737 Classic during its near fifty year-long relationship with the type. As such, with its retirement, the airline's narrowbody needs are now handled by Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) in the form of thirty A319-100s, sixty-seven A320-200s (including four A320neo), twenty A321-100s, and forty-four A321-200s.
