Private airline crew member held with $390,000

Mumbai: A crew member of a private airline was arrested by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for allegedly carrying $390,000 in his check-in baggage at the Mumbai International airport, an official said.

"We have intercepted one Rislie Agat. He concealed it (the currency) in five leather diary covers", a DRI official said.

"The crew member was intercepted at 12:45 AM on Wednesday night ahead of the scheduled departure of the flight at 2:05 AM", he said.
According to the officer, Agat was intercepted at the the customs counter.
Agat had filed a declaration with the customs but he did not mention about the foreign currency in his possession, he said.
