Nigeria's Med-View Airline to acquire an Icelandic B747
Med-View Airline (VL, Kano) has acquired a B747-400 from Air Atlanta Icelandic (CC, Reykjavik Keflavik) for use on its London Gatwick and Jeddah routes.
The agreement was announced last week in Lagos following a signing ceremony.
The Icelandic firm has proffered the Nigerian carrier with wet-leased B747 equipment in the past for use on Hajj charters.
For its part, Med-View operates three B737-400s (two of which are wet-leased from Air Explore (ED, Bratislava)), one B737-500, one B737-800 (also wet-leased from Air Explore), and one B767-300(ER) which it is in the process of acquiring from AerCap under a lease-purchase scheme.
