Aircraft makes emergency landing at Birmingham Airport
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Toni Herrera Bast confirmed that an aircraft with llegiant Airlines has made an emergency landing at the Birmingham Airport around 8:58 a.m.
Flight 872 from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport was on the way to Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska.
The 153-passenger flight was diverted due to an electrical odor in the cabin.
At this time, Bast said the plane did land safely.
A new flight will carry passengers to Omaha with an estimated departure time of 2:30 p.m. CST, according to the Allegiant On-Call Media Relations Team.
